MICHAŁ MATEJCZUK

Managing Director | Founder

Aside from quoting that "it all started as a very wild idea," these words later became Michał's inspiration to engineer, construct, and partner with the World Wildlife Fund Climate Crowd during his Peace Corps service to create The Ichupa Upcycle Project. Years later, with dozens upon dozens of rainwater harvesting tanks  and multi-unit pit latrines established across Uganda, Michał can be found continuing his academic and professional experiences across the U.S., Uganda, Kenya, and India.

NICHOLAS MASETE

Chief Engineer | Co-founder

With us since our founding, Nicholas Masete, also known around town as "Mr. Ichupa," is one of our veteran management members and co-founders who leads our field team's construction, ground operations, and our apprenticeship program training women, youth, and underrepresented minorities. He brings years of engineering experience, a top-notch attire to every meeting, the brightest smile in all of Uganda, and is equipped with a variety of masonry skills when helping our organization and others to grow and succeed in visualizing their creative work.
